Tamra earned her Master of Science degree in Communication and Science Disorders from Northern Arizona University. Tamra’s clinical experience includes diagnostics and treatment in acute care, outpatient, home health and skilled nursing settings with adult patients. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed to practice Speech Language Pathology in the state of North Carolina. Dysphagia & Voice Therapeutics PLLC was founded with the goal to provide specialized medical speech pathology services utilizing cost effective instrumental dysphagia techniques and evidence based therapeutic practices with a patient centered approach. Tamra’s patient population interests are working with patients diagnosed with Head & Neck cancer.
Tamra is very active within her community. She serves on the University of North Carolina at Pembroke Alumni Board. She is a member of the Increasing Trustworthiness through Engaged Action and Mobilization (I-TEAM) a community response team initiative tailoring COVID-19 prevention and outreach materials. Tamra is also a member of the MedSLPcollective a community of medical SLP’s. Tamra is presently pursuing obtaining Board Certification Swallowing Specialist (BCS-S) to advance her knowledge base in diagnosis and treatment of dysphagia .
Tamra resides in Pembroke, North Carolina with her husband and her three kids. In her spare time Tamra enjoys reading, exercising and traveling with her family.
